Dear Readers,

This December will be our first Christmas at Compass Courtyard. We are delighted to be showcasing original artworks of some of Britain's top artists and craftsman from the 6th December at Wightman Gallery.

You are cordially invited to join us all for a Festive Evening, full of mince pies from
Loaf Tin Bakery and mulled wine.

In October Annabel Wightman visited Allanbank Mill Stedding, the home and studios of Pauline Burbidge and Charlie Poulsen.

"At the end of September, I made a trip to the USA - to Lincoln, Nebraska, where you will find the International Quilt Museum (IQM) and 'Spring Creek Prairie', an Audubon Trust conservation area - I visited both.

I have had long links with the IQM (they hold 11 major pieces of my work) it is considered the best Quilt Museum in the world! They are commissioning a new piece from me to be connected to the Prairie Grasses - hence my visit to Spring Creek.

The weather was perfect when I was there - I managed to get some great Cyanotype prints made of the Tall Grasses, to start off my project. I'll be making this quilt over the next 9 months."

Painter Sonia Villiers will be hosting an exhibition of her painting at The Mixing Shed Cafe in aid of The Hamlet Church, Duddenhoe End.
