This newsletter is about the exciting new collaboration between Saffron Walden based restaurant Chater's and potters at Wightman Studio, just outside Saffron Walden. The relationship underscores the profound connection between the food we eat and the materials that present it, transforming each meal into a sensory journey.
We collaborated with Chater's to make some beautiful, handmade plates, glazed with a speckled white on a toasty stoneware clay. We thought that pairing them with the exquisite food Chater's serve would be a harmonious union echoing what we both strive for.
For those of you that don’t know...
Chater's is an independent neighbourhood cafe/restaurant with a focus on in-house bakes, fresh pasta and the best possible ingredients they can get their hands on.
This marriage of handmade ceramics and food isn't just about aesthetics, it’s about presence. It’s about appreciating the craftsmanship that goes into creating each plate or bowl, and the care that goes into preparing each dish.
Our plates coupled with the delicious food Chater's serve is a reason to slow down and visit, please let us know what you think.
